If you use Milwaukee M18 power tools you already have the perfect battery to power your Sullivan Dynatron starter.  The M18 batteries are 5s2p LiIon batteries with built in protection circuits for overcurrent and overdischarge.  The Dynatron will turn over a 1.20 nitro engine with ease on the 18V nominal M18 batteries.

This 3D printed adapter mounts to the Dynatron motor and provides an easy way to use your M18 batteries for a convenient starter setup.  It balances well in the hand and doesn't add a ton of bulk to your starter (depending on the battery size you use).  Comes partially assembled and pre-wired.  Wago 221-412 wire splicing terminals make it easy to connect your Dynatron's input leads to the adapter and get flying with no soldering required.

The adapter pieces also have holes into which you can put the disassembled Sullivan wand, to save on travel space.  Other wands between 7-8mm in diameter will fit, though not all will reach into the rear retainer.

This product includes:
1 x 3D Printed Sullivan Dynatron Milwaukee M18 Mount Set (Black ABS Plastic)
1 x Injection Molded M18 Battery Terminal
1 x Set of Power Cables (Can be shortened as needed)

This product has a limited lifetime warranty.  If the 3D printed pieces break due to impact damage, let us know and we'll get a new one sent out to you.  The warranty does not cover melted or damaged wiring or terminal due to extended periods of too high amp draw (e.g. stalling the starter motor for too long).  Made to order entirely in the USA.

M18 Battery, Charger, and Dynatron not included.

Shipping Disclaimer:
In an effort to reduce waste of shipping supplies, if you order only a Dynatron adapter, it will ship in the single box that it is packaged in instead of being double boxed like they've historically been.  Any additional small items ordered, if they can fit into the adapter box that is how it will ship.  This is in an effort to reduce end user costs, as shipping supplies are not free and the costs are always passed down to the customer.

This a a wonderful battery adapter for the dynatron starter which makes it so convenient to use and transport. Very high quality.

I have had this starter for years. This modification "woke it up" It is so much easier to use with the M18 batteries. I've tried a field box battery and a lipo battery taped to it. This is awesome.

Thank you!

Elegant & Thoughtful Solution

I've seen all sorts of attempts at taping, strapping, and otherwise attaching, schlepping, wiring, and Rube-Goldberging batteries to starters over the years. This being my first foray into internal combustion RC flying, I got myself a Sullivan Dynatron and then went about trying to figure out how to power it conveniently. I stumbled upon KC3D's solution using a Milwaukee 18volt red lithium battery I already had. Actually, I went out and bought another, smaller Milwaukee battery ("compact") to use with it - worth it. KC3D's adapter for the back of the Sullivan is so perfect and I really have to use the word "elegant" to describe it. Fit is perfect. Pay attention to the little note about leaving a little more wire to work with and the only installation issue - and it wasn't really an issue - is to realize how the incredibly simple switch in the handle works and be careful to position the switch in the rubber handle to your liking. Finally, although the owner warns you on his site that sometimes he may take a little time to make and ship - he shipped mine same or next day and I had it quickly. Also, I emailed him for a question and he was back in touch by email in less than 24 hours. Great company, great product, can't wait till someone at the field asks me about it!!!!
